Corruption can be defeated – it needs practical steps

Arseniy Yatsenyuk "Open Ukraine" Foundation holds on April 19, 2010 in Kiev a roundtable entitled "Acceptability of the Georgian anti-corruption experience for Ukraine". The roundtable will take place from 14.00 till 18.00 in the conference hall of Nationalny hotel (Lipska str., 5). Considering the repeatedly declared intents of Ukrainian authorities to improve the situation in the sphere of fighting against corruption in Ukraine, we are convinced of the necessity of cooperation in this field between government and NGOs. The proposed discussion is intended to consider the major achievements of the Georgian authorities in the implementation of anticorruption measures, to analyze successful experience in dealing with corruption, and to conclude: what steps of the Georgian colleagues can be useful and effective for Ukraine.
The roundtable will be attended by Ukrainian and Georgian officials, experts, scientists, and representatives of civil society, business, and media. Financial support is provided by the National Endowment for Democracy (USA). Working languages of the event are English and Ukrainian.
